When people shop for diamonds, they are concerned with who they are dealing with, and consciously or subconsciously evaluate the business and salesperson they might do business with. When shopping over the Internet, people don't have the luxury of looking into a salesperson's eye, know very little about the company they are contacting, and can't handle the product. How much more careful and selective must a customer be!!!! Most often the company people contact is in one city while the stone gets shipped out from New York's 47th street. WHY?? Because the company doesn't own the stone!

Which means two important things:

Their prices aren't going to be that great - they are playing middleman.
They are unloading all the undesirable stones on ONE-TIME buyers and sending their good stones to long established retail accounts.
